Florida Hospice and Palliative Care Association (FHPCA) presented TrustBridge Health’s Sustaining Innovation Group with the Synergy Award. This award is the Award of Excellence given to the group that makes collaboration happen. Comprised of 140 leadership staff, the Sustaining Innovation Group was recognized for its vital role combining the operations of Hospice of Palm Beach County and Hospice by the Sea. The Synergy Award notes that in addition to seeking excellence within, TrustBridge Health’s Sustaining Innovation Group has “inspired excellence and collaboration throughout the hospice environment.”
With each Hospice’s 35 years experience, established processes, procedures and structures, combining operations was a strategic endeavor. The Sustaining Innovation Group leveraged the event as the ideal opportunity to innovate organization-wide. The group established a Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (“QAPI”) project that reached beyond what either Hospice had ever accomplished or could accomplish on its own. Adopting Lean Theory as an organizational, long-term methodology, the Sustaining Innovation Group took QAPI a step further, naming their customized, more robust version QAPI+.
Randy Prange TrustBridge Health’s Chief Operating Officer commented, “Two leaders in the field came together and did the hard work to become a stronger, more optimized version of our former selves. We took this opportunity to take a step back and look at every facet of our organizations and endeavored to innovate without boundaries.” He continued, “The result is excellent patient care delivered to more patients and families.”
